Squirrels is our newest section, having been introduced nationally in 2021. Squirrels are four to six years old and take part in an age-appropriate programme packed with outdoors activities, fun, games, badges, laughter, and so much more.

A Squirrel section is called a drey and is part of a Scout Group, wearing a red sweatshirt with their Scout Group necker.

Beavers is the section for six- to eight-year-olds who wear a turquoise sweatshirt with Scout Group necker.

A Beaver section is known as a Colony and is part of a Scout Group.

Cubs is the section for young people aged eight to ten-and-a-half. They wear a green sweatshirt with their Scout Group necker.

A Cub section is called a Pack and is part of a Scout Group.

Scouts are the original section, created by Robert Baden-Powell in 1907. Scouts are 10½ to 14 years of age and wear a green shirt with their Scout Group necker.

A Scout section is known as a Troop and is part of a Scout Group.

Explorers are 14 to 18 years old and wear a beige shirt with their Scout District necker.

An Explorer Section is called a Unit and is part of a Scout District.

The Scout Network is for young adults aged 18 to 25.
